Welcome to the
West Yorkshire Coach Operators
Web site.
The Bradford & District Coach Operators
Association was founded in 1975 and the name subsequently changed to
West Yorkshire Coach Operators (WYCO) in 1997. The aims of the
Association are to promote goodwill between members and, wherever possible
to help each other out in the event of emergencies, breakdown and multiple
bookings, in order to offer the best possible service and satisfaction to
the general public. West Yorkshire Coach Operators is a voluntary
Association whose officers give their own time to help run it.
There are currently 35 companies who are
full members of the Association plus 4 Retired members and 7 Associate
members that are based all over West Yorkshire, including Baildon, Batley,
Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield, Keighley, Leeds, Liversedge, Morley,
Otley and Wakefield. Between the active members there are over 200
vehicles represented within the Association, ranging from 12 seat
minicoaches to full executive standard coaches complete with toilets,
videos and drinks machines.
Members of the Association invest at least
£1 million per year in new vehicles - most full size coaches these days
cost over £180,000 each. Between them, members own vehicles worth in
excess of £6 million. Our members not only provide the transport and other
services mention above to the general public, but also offer considerable
employment to drivers, mechanics and all those involved in the ancillary
services required by the industry. They also reinvest in the local
community through advertising in the local press, printing, fuel, local
services and much more. All of this service is privately funded.
